Directions

    Preheat your oven to 425 degrees

    Add two cups of sifted self rising flour to a bowl and place it in the freezer

  3. 3.

    Add about a tablespoon of bacon drippings to a cast iron skillet and place it in the oven while it preheats

  4. 4.

    Grate one stick of frozen butter

  5. 5.

    Get the bowl of flour out of the freezer and add the grated butter to it

  6. 6.

    Fork the butter into the flour

  7. 7.

    Add cold milk a little at a time until the dough starts to form

  8. 8.

    Flour a clean surface and turn the dough out onto it

  9. 9.

    Form the dough and fold it 12 times, adding flour if it gets sticky. Be light with your hands to avoid flat biscuits

  10. 10.

    Place the cutter in the freezer until ready to use

  11. 11.

    Dip the cutter in the flour and cut out the biscuits

    Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven

    Place biscuits in the skillet

    Bake at 425 for 15 minutes, then broil until the tops are golden brown
