Directions

    Finely chop the onion, carrot, and celery.

    In a large pot, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat.

    Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery and cook until softened.

    Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper and cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon.

    Stir in the tomato paste, tomato puree, whole milk, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.

    Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 hours or until the sauce has thickened.

    Cook pasta according to package directions.

    Drain pasta and add it to the sauce.

    Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

    Serve hot and top with grated parmesan cheese.
