Directions

    Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.

    Let the potatoes rest in cold water for a few minutes.

    In a bowl, mix heavy cream and melted butter.

    Make a paste with two garlic cloves and add to the cream mixture.

    Assemble in a casserole dish by layering the potatoes, cream mixture, Gruyère cheese, salt, pepper, thyme and rosemary.

    Cover and cook at 180°C for about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

    Add a last layer of Gruyère cheese and broil for five minutes.
