Directions

    Add 1 tsp of activated yeast, 2 tsp of sugar, and 1 tsp of salt into a bowl.

    Add 1 ½ cups of warm water (108°F) and stir for about a minute.

    Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until the yeast starts to grow.

    Add 3 cups of flour and mix until most of the flour is incorporated.

    Cover the bowl with a cloth and let it rest for 1–2 hours.

    After an hour, remove the cloth and mix the dough for about a minute.

    Put the dough on a floured cutting board and shape it into a round ball.

    Place the dough in a bowl with parchment paper, sprinkle some flour on top, and cut a cross on top.

    Preheat the dutch oven at 450°F.

    Place the dough inside the preheated dutch oven, cover, and bake for 35 minutes at 450°F.

    Remove the lid and bake for an additional 5 minutes.

    Remove from the oven and let it rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
